MANAGEMENT & LIFESTYLE WORKSHOPS

Did you know...

The American Psychological Association estimates that 60% of all absences are due to stress-related issues, costing U.S. companies more than $57 billion each year.

Caring for an Aging Parent
Are you caring for an aging parent or anticipating being in a caregiving role in the future? In addition to caregiving duties, many of today's caregivers are also employed outside of the home. The combined responsibilities of employment, family and caregiving roles at times may be overwhelming. Caring for an Aging Parent is an informative program to provide participants with helpful information to assist them through their caregiving journey. Knowledge of what information is essential to provide quality care, how to organize information, how to plan ahead before a crisis happens, what resources are available within the community, and how to develop a support system to assist in caregiving duties is indispensable. Caring for an Aging Parent is also beneficial to individuals who want to learn what actions they can take now to plan ahead for their own later years.

"This gave me a really good idea of what I need to do organize myself as well as my mother's things."

EAP for Supervisors:  Helping Your Employees Help Themselves

As a manager or supervisor, you could find yourself in one of these situations:

  • An employee with typically acceptable performance is suddenly and consistently sliding.
  • An employee is going through a rough time at home and you would like to offer some assistance -- you're not sure what to say
  • Your work group has been impacted by the death of a significant member. How can you support them (and get the work done).
  • An employee has tested positive for a controlled substance under your post accident testing program. You would like to offer help, and make sure the person does not pose a safety risk.
  • An employee has made a vague statement to a co-worker about feeling life is not worth living.

In this program, participants will learn:

  • What an EAP is (and isn't)
  • How the EAP can support a supervisor or manager when an employee appears to be troubled
  • How to avoid expensive litigation by learning which terms to use (and which to avoid) when speaking with an employee
  • How to stay focused on work performance, productivity, and the morale of your entire team.
  • Practice solving problems through case studies

"Great to reinforce this benefit and to encourage employees to use their EAP to help manage their business/family life.  I will deal with performance issues and not avoid them. Good information and tools."

Various props and demonstrations are used to teach the concepts. Weight Management

Nearly 65% of adults in the US are overweight or obese. Obesity is a greater trigger for health problems and health care expenses than smoking. Overweight and obesity occur when an individual consumes more calories than she or he burns. Many people can control weight through awareness of nutrition and support in changing behaviors associated with overeating. This workshop will provide information on nutrition and health, and suggestions for reducing weight.
