About the Program

As a manager or supervisor, you could find yourself in one of these situations:

  • An employee with typically stellar performance is suddenly and consistently sliding.

  • An employee is going through a rough time at home and you would like to offer some assistance -- you're not sure what to say

  • Your work group has been impacted by the death of a significant member. How can you support them (and get the work done).

  • An employee has tested positive for a controlled substance under your post accident testing program. You would like to offer help, and make sure the person does not pose a safety risk.

  • An employee has made a vague statement to a co-worker about feeling life is not worth living.

In this program, participants will learn:

  • What an EAP is (and isn't)

  • How the EAP can support a supervisor or manager when an employee appears to be troubled

  • How to avoid expensive litigation by learning which terms to use (and which to avoid) when speaking with an employee

  • How to stay focused on work performance, productivity, and the morale of your entire team.

  • Practice solving problems through case studies
