Goal Setting:  Overcoming Resistance to Effect Change:
  Dr. Linnea Bailey

In this workshop you'll discover how to set goals and overcome resistance to achieving these goals by breaking old habits and routines, learning self-hypnosis to effect change and finding ways to sustain your goals in the long run.

Participants will learn to:

  • Define personal health and wellness
  • Set and obtain realistic goals
  • Learn how to overcome resistance by developing new habits and routines
  • Develop a personal health and wellness plan
  • Sustain changes, including learning self-hypnosis to effect change and overcome resistance.

January 15
Changing Self-Defeating Patterns
:  Kenneth Ruffner

How many times have you set a goal, then one thing goes wrong and you give up on the whole idea?  Sometimes it can be something you have very little control over;  at other times you "just might not feel like doing it" one day... then never really do get back on track.

In this workshop, participants will learn to:

  • Recognize their pattern of negative, self-defeating thinking
  • Challenge that thinking and adopt a new, more realistic way of looking at things
  • Realize that sometimes by doing something without really feeling like it can lead to a dramatic shift in behavioral patterns.

January 22
Laughing Your Way to Wellness:
Elaine Boltz

Achieving wellness goals is serious business.  Learning to "lighten up" can provide the humor resilience needed to overcome the many obstacles that block good intentions.  In this workshop you'll learn the physical benefits of including humor in your life, how to view the humorous side of a situation and how humor increases creativity and opens one's mind to being flexible with those wellness goals.

Participants will learn to:

  • Focus on using humor effectively to achieve goals
  • Understand the health benefits of humor and laughter
  • Nurture a sense of humor to create a positive environment and attitude

January 29
Stopping Stress in its Tracks
:  Holly Socolow

One sure way to keep your wellness goals is to know how to reduce your stress.  Unchecked stress can sabotage your best efforts to meet your goals.  However, if you know how to stay relaxed and calm, you'll be able to think more clearly and stay focused.  Stress is always felt in the body, no matter what the cause.  In this workshop, participants will learn to:

  • Understand how stress affects the nervous system
  • Recognize your physical signs of stress
  • Easy to learn breathing exercises to become more relaxed
  • Simple stretches for work or home
  • Experience a guided meditation
