A trained Intake Specialist (not an answering machine) will answer your call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
 

The Intake Specialist will ask basic information to schedule you with the most appropriate counselor, based on urgency, your presenting problem, and geographic location.
 

Non-urgent appointments are offered within three workdays.
 

Emergencies - appointments are offered same day (within 24 hours).
 

On-Call - a Master's or Doctorate level counselor is always on-call for emergencies.  Be sure to tell the operator if you have an emergency. 
 

Convenient location - an EAP counselor is available within 30 minutes of your work in most cases.  There may be some exceptions in rural areas.
 

Cancellation policy - even though LMA-EAP is free to the employee, it still has value.  If you are unable to make the appointment, LMA requests a 24-hour courtesy cancellation.  If you do not show for your appointment or cancel with less than 24 hour notice, one EAP session will be deducted from your allotment.
